Faces of UAE is a documentary tribute to the United Arab Emirates, the people who live here and their affection and admiration for the country.
My objective is to create a platform that documents the perspectives on life in the UAE, what distinguishes it from places around the world, and why it’s special to the people who call it home.
In this on-going series, some of the country’s leading personalities from all walks of life share their views, the secret of UAE’s success, and how they found their own success here. I am grateful to all who have participated in the project through the years for taking time out of their busy schedules to do so.
Just like these individuals, I am constantly amazed by UAE’s achievements under the guiding light and principles set by the Father of the Nation, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The confidence and trust that people have in the leadership of the country, and the underlying sense of achievement they have in their own association with the UAE is remarkable.
My background as a journalist and portrait photographer made it natural for me to focus on people for this project because the UAE’s achievements in every field are inherently human achievements.
Various government agencies and departments are doing an amazing job of promoting the country’s heritage, art, architecture and innovations. I wanted to focus more on the abstracts; the pride and deep connection that people feel with this country today and over the next 50 years.
I hope that you enjoy reading about these inspirational men and women and their journeys to success.
